PART II OF SCHEDULE II

Regulations made under Section 60(m) of the Measurement Units Standards & Services Act No.35 of 1995 and published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 1254/3 of 16th September 2002 were amended and published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 1499/7 of 29th May 2007.

(a) Registration Fee for Sale

	Rs. Cts.
(i) Registration fee to sell weights, measures and weighing and measures and weighing and measuring instrument	200.00

 

(b) Registration Fee for Repair

Registration fee when the repairer is one person (see the note below whether the repairer is an organization or a gang)

(i) Registration fee to repair weights and measures	100.00
(ii) Registration fee to repair scale beams	200.00
(iii) Registration fee to repair spring balance	200.00
(iv) Registration fee to repair platform machines	250.00
(v) Registration fee to repair counter scales	250.00
(vi) Registration fee to repair weighbridges	750.00
(vii) Registration fee to repair all types of mechanical weighing instruments	750.00
(viii) Registration fee to repair all types of electronic weighing instrument Registration fee to repair any other additional makes	750.00 100.00

Note_When a person or an organization employs a gang to repair weighing and measuring instruments each gang shall have a certificate of registration. A repair gang means a person or a group of persons used to repair instruments. Each group shall have at least one person whose competence is accepted by the Director to repair such equipment. Names and national Identity Card numbers of such persons shall be notified to the office, If that person resigns or is replaced from the gang or if his position becomes otherwise vacant, such fact shall be notified to the Director immediately. The substitute shall be a person whose competence is accepted by the Director.

 

(c) Registration Fee for Manufacture:

	Rs. Cts.
(i) Registration Fee to manufacture and sell, measures of Length or Capacity of Wood or Metal	250.00
(ii) Registration Fee to manufacture and sell, weights or beam scales	250.00
(iii) Registration Fee to manufacture and sell,instruments other than bean scales of each type.	1000.00
